Nepal Presentation
This afternoon all the Year 3 and 4's were lucky enough to have Macey's grandparents (Room 10) come to speak with us about what life is like in Nepal. Ross and Kathleen spoke about the different regions of Nepal and the differences in clothing, housing and how they carry things. They showed us items of clothing like; scarfs,dresses and bags, as well as jasmine paper that is made in Nepal and much much more! Make a comment about what you learned from our expert visitors!

Room 8 has learnt a lot of stuff like how to pronounce Nepal properly.

hi. I lernt that in nepal people dont have water pipes so some people carry water on there backs and some on there heads.Sofya
I learnt that Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. The people eat rice. The houses in the low hills and in Kathmandu are made of stone or bricks and mud and have flat roofs.Lincoln

I have learnt that the houses are made from layers of mud and that some parents can't afford to send their children to school. They carry babies, wood and building materials in baskets on their head. They sit on the top of buses and every morning they go down the hill to collect water and then go home - it takes half an hour. You can tell if a lady is married because she is wearing a necklace. And they grow their own food - they grow potatoes and rice.

Hi. I learnt that in Nepal they have very strong feet. So they don't wear shoes. Sometimes they wear jandals but then their feet aren't as strong. In Nepal they sit on top of bus's.

I learnt that children in Nepal have their own festival and there is a game where you have to climb a pole to reach the treats at top. normally they work but we don,t only grownups go to work here.

I learnt that the Indian plate goes under the Asian plate to form the Himalays.It grows every 2cm every year.I learnt that childrens parents might not have enough money for school so children have to work the jobs they do are carry stuff like babys,wood,food.Children wash their own clothes.

I learnt that on flat land the people of Nepal carry things on their heads. On steep lands they carry things on their backs. Babies learn to carry things on their heads.
